Leadership

Ed Nalbandian is a leader in the managed services industry, having held several strategic and executive level roles in a variety of organizations ranging from startups to fortune 100 businesses. Ed is one of the inaugural members of the Managed Services Provider (MSP) industry association.

Ed spent the first thirteen years of his career in IBM’s managed services business, starting with IBM’s new “Information Network” division.  He parlayed both sales and product management roles to become a key executive who, within a few short years, helped to transform the division into the IBM Global Network, an industry leader in managed services.

He was recruited by AT&T to start and lead Managed Network Solutions, a new business AT&T was creating.  Under his leadership, the unit achieved unprecedented growth and profitability as was recognized as the industry leader from a market share and client satisfaction standpoint.  In just four short years, the organization grew to over $500m in revenue with more than 1,400 employees globally.

With the wealth of knowledge and experience he had gained with IBM and AT&T, Ed then embarked on designing and building out his own managed and professional services company called AimNet Solutions.  The business grew from its small beginnings to become an industry leader in remote managed services, 600 clients and 150 employees strong, and having earned  broad recognition as the leading independent Managed Services Provider (MSP).

Mr. Nalbandian then sold the AimNet Solutions to Cognizant Technology Solutions, and became the head of the IT Infrastructure Services (IT IS) business.  During his time at Cognizant Ed  engineered a major restructuring of the business driving a 150% increase in revenue in a two year period, while leading the analyst community to recognize Cognizant as a tier one infrastructure managed services provider.

The next leadership role for Mr. Nalbandian was with Avaya to reinvigorate Avaya’s managed services business. Avaya Operations Services or AOS was born of a dramatic transformation of the business that took a declining revenue stream to a robust 25% YoY growth rate business.  Avaya’s turnaround in managed services was fueled by its innovative “private cloud”: outsourcing model based on a global delivery model and platform infrastructure.

Mr. Nalbandian is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a BA in Economics.  He has been married for twenty five years to his wife Tracy and has two children, Kellie, 21 and Eric, 17.
